Blockchain Bootcamp

The Pistoia Alliance Blockchain Bootcamp is part of the Pistoia Alliance's blockchain education efforts.   It is free for all Pistoia Alliance members. Non-members are welcome, and will be charged a fee.  Coming out of the event we expect our attendees will have a much better understanding of the technology, and can start more effectively evaluating if/how blockchain could be applied to challenges facing Life Sciences R&D

Are you ready to roll up your sleeves and actually build some apps on a blockchain?  If so, this event is for you.  The first day will focus on Hyperledger Fabric training, while the second day will offer hands-on coding of some life-sciences-related use cases.  Plan to bring your computer and your curiosity and creativity. Event Instructor  wll be Kris Bennet, of the Blockchain Training Alliance

Who should attend the "Blockchain Bootcamp"?

Scientific and business managers; business analysts; software developers; IS/IT managers; informaticians and data scientists; anyone with an interest in the application of blockchain technology to life sciences and healthcare R&D

What will attendees gain from attending the "Blockchain Bootcamp"?

After the two days you will have gained:

- Deeper insight into and understanding of the Hyperledger Platform -- https://www.hyperledger.org/ -- for example its composition & architecture, best practices, how to develop smart contracts.
- Knowledge about the different components that make up Hyperledger, e.g. Fabric, Composer.
- Actual hands-on experience of coding and software development using Hyperledger components.  The coding challenges will be based on real-life use-cases from actual business processes within life sciences R&D, e.g. sample and animal management, records management.
