Blockland Solutions Hackathon
HACKATHON DETAILS

If participants are under the age of 18, a waiver must be signed by a parent and turned in to us for the student to participate in the Hackathon. The waiver can be printed from this link. If you do not turn in the form, you will not be allowed to enter the event.
All participants, including those under the age of 18, are required to sign Cleveland State University’s Code of Conduct. The form can be printed from this link, and it needs to be turned in upon entering the event.
Do you need to find a team? There will be time after the Keynote Speaker & Event Overview on Friday evening for you to find and match up with team members.

IMPORTANT PARKING & BUILDING ENTRANCE INFO
Hackathon attendees are permitted to use the Prospect Parking Garage: 2350 Prospect Avenue, Cleveland, OH 4115. Attendees are required to use a parking permit if they are using the garage. The permit can be printed from this link.
Please click this Hackathon Campus Map PDF for directions you must follow to use the parking garage, and how to get from the parking garage to Washkewicz Hall. These buildings are 1 block apart from each other.
If you are not using the parking garage, the corner of East 24th Street and Chester Avenue is the best spot to get dropped off or picked up at any time during the weekend.
You are welcome to stay at Washkewicz Hall throughout the entire weekend, just make sure to bring whatever personal items you may need with you. There will be security personnel on site during the entire event. You will be able to come and go as you please throughout the weekend, and you are not required to stay on campus overnight.
FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 9
- 5PM- Doors open for registration and dinner will be served
- 6PM- Keynote Speaker & Event Overview
- Our Keynote Speaker will be Matthew Johnson, Head of the Dan T. Moore Makerspace Lab at Cleveland State University’s Washkewicz College of Engineering
- 7PM- Hacking begins!
SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 10
- 8-10AM- Breakfast will be available
- 12-2PM- Lunch will be available
- 6-8PM- Dinner will be available
SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 11
- 8-10AM- Breakfast will be available
- 10AM- Code cut off, all projects are wrapped up
- 11AM- Judging starts
- 12PM- Lunch will be served
- 1:30PM (Roughly)- Prizes and Awards for the top teams will be announced
MATERIALS & RESOURCES
Remember to bring your own computers/laptops and chargers. We will have enough power supply for everyone.
If you marked on your registration that you do not have your own laptop, we will be reaching out to you with a separate message.
BLOCKCHAIN DEVELOPMENT RESOURCES
This hackathon will be a great educational experience for participants to challenge themselves to learn more about blockchain technologies. If you’re new to blockchain and don’t know what tools to use, please see the below suggestions (and do some research on them before the Hackathon):
- Modern web browser: Chrome, Firefox or Opera
- MetaMask extension for any of the above browsers
- Remix, a website-based IDE for Ethereum
PRIZES
There will be prizes for the top teams in each of the following categories:
- High School
- College
- Industry Professionals
FOOD
Meals, beverages and snacks will be provided throughout the weekend. If you have dietary restrictions, we recommend packing some food in case we don’t have what you need to eat.

These events are being held in partnership with the Blockland Solutions Conference. The above Workshop and Hackathon are different events than what is being offered at the Conference. However, attending the Workshop and the Hackathon can help better prepare you if you'd like to attend the Solutions Conference in December.
