    About #BroncosHack

To be held at Fire Station 101 over a weekend from Friday 8 – Sunday 10 March 2019, #BroncosHack is a collaborative competition that will bring together individuals with a range of relevant talents to discuss, brainstorm, and create innovative solutions to increase fan engagement. Innovation shapes the behaviour and demands of sports fans and the Brisbane Broncos want to proactively look at how they can support and improve their fan experience.
Note - This event is 18+ only

Everything you will need on the day will be provided to you. This includes briefing notes, an inspiring workspace, WiFi, VR device, meals and beverages to keep you fuelled. Teams will receive mentoring from industry, business and tech experts to help develop their ideas, business models and pitches.

Registration is now open to groups or individuals with great ideas, passion and motivation to make it happen.
You can register as an individual or as a team of up to 5 people.

    How #BroncosHack works

    • Inspiration: We will kick-off with a few short presentations about the challenge we will work on.

    • Teaming forming: You are encouraged to register as a team but if you are missing a team member or registering as an individual, we will help you find teammates.

    • Ideation: Once teams are formed the brainstorming commences, put forward a bunch of ideas and select the one you want to work on for the remainder of the hackathon.

    • Developing: We will ensure you have time to develop your ideas, construct a prototype if possible, and formulate your presentation.

    • Pitching: Each team will pitch their innovative idea to a panel of judges, who will deliberate and select a winning team.

    • Social hour: Chill out, socialise and celebrate your achievement.

To successfully turn your ideas into a #BroncosHack solution, you must address the following design and product aspects:

    Innovation and Design
Is the solution unique or relatively original in the target market?

    • If there is a similar product of service on the market, does the solution clearly and meaningfully innovate beyond those existing product or service? Is the solution intuitive and will target-users find it user-friendly?

    Design inclusively
    Is the user experience smooth?

    • Does the solution consider diverse stakeholder perspectives?

    Practicality and feasibility
Does the solution address the core issue(s) of the hackathon challenge?

    • Does it encourage cross-disciplinary collaboration?

    Tech Proficiency
Does the solution make effective and appropriate use of technology?

E.G: How well does it integrate and leverage the benefits of key technology such as chatbot, cloud computing, real-time analytics, big data, etc.

    • Is the solution a comprehensive technology design? Or is it part of a larger solution?

    • Has the team considered the ongoing support costs and requirements of implementing the solution?
