Build.iT

Build.iT is much more than just a hackathon. A key hallmark of Workspace Education is our focus on developing the entrepreneurial spirit in our kids. The Build.iT hackathon will focus on entrepreneurial product development. Students form teams of 3 or 4 and designate traditional startup roles. These newly formed startups will then identify a problem/inefficiency related to the theme we provide. Teams will brainstorm solutions and choose one to pursue from conception to reality. 

Workspace Education boasts a state of the art facility complete with Prusa 3D printers, 3D modeling software, Rabbit Laser Cutter, full animation studio and software, professional grade recording studio and editing suite just to name a few. Workspace will provide specialists to offer training sessions for hackers interested in utilizing our technology in their research and development process.

Final products will be showcased during presentations at the conclusion of Build.iT. Judges will score each team according to a rubric provided by the Build.iT planning committee. Top teams from each division (middle school and high school) will receive prizes provided by our sponsors. The goal of Build.iT is spark ingenuity, creativity, and innovation in our younger generation.
