Call for datasets and research challenges in collaboration with the Alan Turing Institute

Organized by

The Alan Turing Institute, the UK National Institute for Data Science and AI, has been running a number of successful Data Study Groups, which are intensive week-long 'collaborative hackathons' hosted at the Turing, which bring together organisations from industry, government, and the third sector, with talented multi-disciplinary researchers from academia Organisations act as Data Study Group 'Challenge Owners', provide real-world problems and data sets to be tackled by small groups of highly talented, carefully selected researchers. Researchers brainstorm and engineer data science solutions, presenting their work at the end of the week. The Turing aims to expand this concept and it's seeking datasets (as part of a research project or coming from third-party organisations) and challenge owners that would like to work with the Turing network in developing a challenge for a data study group or longer-term project. The Turing has provided a list of FAQs available on the JGI website, as well as, further information on deadlines and funding available. However, if you have further questions and you would like to discuss this with the Turing Data Study group team, we have organised an information day in Bristol on 8 January, I hope you or a member of your team can attend if you would like to be part of this project.
