3rd Annual USC Marshall Global Supply Chain Management Hackathon
BACKGROUND: The USC Marshall Global Supply Chain Management is hosting the 3rd Annual Supply Chain Hackathon as part of the ChainPORT Hack in Los Angeles. Participants will form teams to develop a software solution over a 24 hour period.
FORMAT: Teams of participants will select a software-based challenge related to the ports and shipping industry to solve over a 24-hour period. Each team will consist of developers, designers, data analysts and other professionals who will work together to compete for cash and prizes. The finalists will present their winning solutions in front of a panel of judges and their peers. Teams will be tasked to create a demo of their solution that will solve one of 3 identified problem sets.
PROBLEMS TO SOLVE: To develop the most cost effective, user friendly information sharing technologies for the problem areas.
1) Document Processing & Data Flow: decrease document and data bottlenecks
2) Interport: data sharing between two or more world ports
3) Safety & Security: how to optimize the movement of goods while maximizing secure protocols
PRIZES:
1st Place Team: $2500
2nd Place Team: $1000
3rd Place Team: $500
