Changemaker Series: From Entrepreneur to Angel Investor

ATTENTION ALL CHANGE MAKERS:

Do you believe in harnessing the power of business for good? Of course you do.

Do you have a bright idea that could change our world for the better? Uh-huh.

Do you have the money to transform that idea into reality? Hmm.

Never fear, because One10 is here offering all innovators and change makers an unmissable opportunity to pick the expert brain of world-leading social entrepreneur turned angel investor, Shelli Trung.

Named one of Australia's top 10 female startup entrepreneurs in 2011, Shelli knows all too well the frustration associated with attracting the right investment to get your social startup off the ground. Since 2011, Shelli has undergone what can only be described as an angel investor metamorphosis, and is now recognised as one of the top 100 angel investors to follow, globally. Yep, we know. Impressive.

Luckily for you, Shelli has agreed to share her insider tips and tricks to attracting startup investment with an intimate group of Melbourne change makers and budding social entrepreneurs. In case the reasons that you can't miss this event aren't blindingly obvious already, read on for more of her background and expertise. If they are blindingly obvious, just click "Get Tickets" already.

Shelli is a real estate and angel investor, primarily focused on fintech, real estate tech, and social impact startups. The social startups she has funded are diverse, and range from organisations providing co-living spaces for newly arrived tech entrepreneurs in New York, through to digital platforms that finance solar retro-fits to the trillion dollar commercial real estate market in China. She focuses her other investments on building financial literacy and transparency within NGOs and not-for-profits. Shelli was an organiser of the recent Techfugees Melbourne Hackathon, and is an ambassador with Welcome to Australia.

Our MC for the night is Kristin Mark, a UX designer from New York City with a bright wardrobe and contagious laugh to boot. Her passion for User Experience Design is fueled by her strong curiosity about human nature and love for creative problem solving. Kristin enjoys partaking in the UX design world because she's able to make connections with people and hear their stories. She also finds it gratifying to aid in making lives more pleasurable by ideating practical products and services that stimulate delightful human experiences.

Bring along your questions, theories, and ideas and join in an open discussion with Shelli and Kristin on Tuesday night. Tweet your questions to @OneTenTeam and we'll add it to our growing list!

Drinks and light snacks will be included. Arrive at 5.45pm for a 6pm sharp kick-off!
