Chiang Mai Hackathon

WHAT:  Currently, Big Data approach is needed in every public and private sectors as well as the advancing in network technology and innovation. In an effort to further tap the potential of Big Data development and advancing in CISCO technology, the conference committee of ICSEC 2015 is hosting an international conference and a hackathon event with the theme “Hybrid Cloud Computing: A New Approach for Big Data Era”. The event will take place on November 23-24th, 2015 in the city of Hipster cultural, Chiang Mai, Thailand.   WHY: The objective of the event is to develop and build up interdisciplinary skills amongst government institutions, public sectors, private sectors and academia, about the use of existing data innovation opportunities to address Thailand’s public/private sector needs. The 36-hours event will be opened by a seminar where representatives from academia, public and private sectors: Universities’ participants, CISCO, Healthcare professionals will discuss about the potential use of data that can be utilized to support key public services.   ABOUT THE HACKATHON: We are inviting developers to compete in the 36-hour software/hardware challenge (hackathon) to develop the outcomes that showcase the use of public sector data to improve health, and the use of CISCO hardware to improve network services. Participants will be provided with two sets of data and encouraged to come up with proof of concepts or mockup that creatively explore its use by selecting 1 from the following topics:   Topic 1: Develop CISCO infrastructure. (Data will be provided by CISCO) Topic 2: Develop apps that can give comprehensive health information finding provide by Chiang Mai One Health Project that merging data from private cloud and public cloud and visualize geographical information (Google Map/Nostra Map) and vice versa. (Data will be provided by Chiang Mai One Health Project) Participants will develop innovative applications (mobile or stand-alone) and/or websites and/or visualization tool using data provided for the event (plus publicly available data, if needed) in order to address the selected issues. *More detail on both topics are enclosed until the event’s date.  WHEN: November 23th and 24th 2015   WHERE:  Duangtawan Hotel Chiang Mai, Chiang Dao Room REGISTRATION & MORE INFORMATION: Registration for the Hackathon will open during 1st June – 31th July 2015 ABOUT THE ORGANIZERS:  Chiang Mai Hackathon are held under ICSEC2015, the staffs are from CISCO, researchers and mentors from Chiang Mai One Health Project Team  Date:  Wed, 2015-11-23 09:00 to Thu, 2015-11-24 21:00 Winner will be announce in ICSEC2015 Banquet party.
