Code for Cardboard

Organized by

On Saturday 19th December from 9am- 6pm Kainos will be holding a Google Cardboard Hackathon. The hackathon aims to inspire how schools of the future will deliver teaching using VR technologies. We were inspired by Google’s virtual reality efforts to explore the environment along with Magic Leap’s vision for marine and astronomy AR lessons in the classroom and we hope you are too. There are some cool prizes up for grabs for the most engaging education ideas (though if you want to come along and build something that’s not education based that’s ok too). Food and refreshments will be provided during the day.  If you don’t know how to code for cardboard, don’t worry! One of our Kainos engineers, Neil Thom, will be hosting a workshop on Friday 18th December from 5pm – 6.30pm at our Belfast Kainos office to demonstrate the basics of getting a simple cardboard app up and running. This means you will have everything set up for getting stuck in on Saturday morning. Kainos will have mentors on hand too.  We will be providing Cardboard VR headsets for use during the events as well as providing food and drink.  This FREE event is open to students (16+) and industry professionals and places are limited. If you are interested, register your interest asap! Email codeforcardboard@kainos.com if you need more information.
