Code for the Kingdom Chicago Hackathon

Organized by Code for the Kingdom Chicago

Hack to Stand for Christianity & Help the Needy

Join us July 28-30, 2017 as we gather developers, designers, entrepreneurs, and anyone interested in using technology for positive change in the Chicagoland area and utlimately for God's glory.  This will be a weekend unlike any other in Chicago!

We're about promoting community, code, and innovation in and beyond Chicago. Everyone is welcome regardless of faith or worldview - come and join-up with a team on Friday night, or bring a team with you.

Bring your own idea, and let's create something good together!

Challenges and Projects

At the hackathon, organizations and individuals in the local community will present challenges that will help focus our efforts at the hackathon.  As these are solidified, they will be posted here, so check back soon! These challenges will focus on helping some specific marginalized groups in our community and/or helping with other Chicago related needs.

You are, of course, welcome to pitch any idea.  Some past projects have included:

  • a youth group collaborative journaling and study app
  • a marketing campaign and website aimed at helping people know and serve refugees in our community
  • a JavaScript SDK for a digital Bible API
  • an online, real-time translation tool for a popular version of the Bible

And these are just a few! We will have prize categories, including cash prizes, worth $1500 that will be awarded to winners.
