Code the Deal LA Hackathon
Code The Deal LA is the second annual legal hackathon produced by Legal Hackers that challenges participants to produce solutions that improve transactional law across multiple fields and industries. Code the Deal aims to enhance the delivery of legal services, expand access to legal services and advance the legal industry. Teams of developers, designers, lawyers, data analysts and other professionals will work together to compete for cash prizes for developing software-based solutions to challenges posted by lawyers, general counsel and other industry participants.
Where and When? Code the Deal LA will be held at the UCLA School of Law on Saturday and Sunday, October 24 and 25, 2015. The event kicks off with registration and breakfast at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday and will run until Sunday evening when participants will pitch their prototype solutions to a panel of judges.
Who? We have attracted many participants and sponsors from Los Angeles and nearby areas, as well as from other major markets. We expect to have over 100 developers, lawyers and other participants at the event.
What is a hackathon? A hackathon is an event, typically lasting several days, in which a large number of people meet to engage in collaborative computer programming. Within one weekend, teams will build tech solutions to problems, pitch their concept to a panel of judges and compete for cash and other prizes.
What will it look like? The hackathon will incorporate challenges on real estate, entertainment law, and affordable housing. Cash prizes will be on offer for the winners of these challenges.
