Venue: Jury's Inn, Keels Wharf, Liverpool, L3 4FN
We are delighted to invite you to apply to participate in this unique event,
“Collaborate to Improve Care - Hackathon.”
Do you have a passion for making a difference to the care provided in schemes and homes around the country? Do you like to problem solve and find innovative solutions to everyday issues in the provision of healthcare in care homes, keeping the more vulnerable members of our society safe, well and avoiding admissions into secondary care?
Hackathons represent a hands on, dynamic approach to finding innovative solutions to everyday problems and are being used worldwide to develop new ways of improving healthcare and well being.
We're looking to bring a diverse mix of people together:
Health and Care: Healthcare scientists, clinicians, care professionals, commissioners, GPs, community care professionals, citizen representatives, elderly care physicians, public health and mental health professionals.
Academia: Information management, engineering, computer science, bio-medican sciences and design.
Business: SMEs, technology companies, pharma and medical devices.
This two-day event is being funded by the Chief Scientific Officer Professor Sue Hill OBE to promote the scientific workforce and supported by the Innovation Agency.
If you want to know what to expect, the Innovation Agency has further information and links to videos from other 'Hacks' to view. In short, the Hackathon will bring together 100 participants from different professions to solve (or hack) problems. Challenges will be pitched by participants and teams will be formed to find a solution to one of these challenges. The teams then pitch their solutions to a panel of judges, and they will mark the solutions on their viability.
The event will be held over the 13th and 14th July 2016 and you will become part of a team working together on a solution and pitch. There are 100 places available.
If you’re interested in participating, please apply on this page. As we need to ensure a diverse range of participants, your application will be reviewed by the organisers and a place confirmed to you. The application process will close on Friday 24th June. It's really important that you are able to attend both days, so please bear this in mind when applying for a place.
Please note: you will receive a confirmation email from Eventbrite when you submit your application. This confirms our receipt of your application and is not confirmation of your place at this hackathon. We will contact you separately via email if you have been successful.
Thank you.
