Computer Science Curriculum Hackathon

Join us at Cornell Tech's brand new campus on Roosevelt Island for a day of hacking together a different kind of script: Computer Science Curriculum!

Create innovative content by teaming up with computer scientists and educators from various backgrounds, who all want the same thing you do: exciting, engaging curriculum for computer science students across the country. Get an overview of the NYC CS4ALL Blueprint. Hear from special guest, Phil Bagge, one of the creators of the UK computing curriculum and recognized Computing Master Teacher.

Day Breakdown

Start the morning off generating CS lesson ideas. Create interdisciplinary teams (or bring your own) that may include teachers, software & web developers, curriculum developers, grad students, and school administrators. Use a design-thinking framework to decide together which idea/s to expand into a full blown lesson plan or curriculum, and get cracking. Phil Bagge will also provide personalized feedback to each team throughout the day.

End the hackathon by presenting your creation and pushing it to an open GitHub repository and sharing it to the NYC CS4ALL Blueprint lesson repository in Google Drive so that educators everywhere can use and adapt what you've built!
