Innovating to generate economic value for Kenya and her people
The annual Connected Kenya summit is a platform that brings over 500 ICT thought leaders together to freely share and exchange ideas on how to harness intellectual capital to generate economic value, as well as mechanisms of perpertuating technology as a catalyst for service delivery in the region. This year's edition will primarily focus on the Big Four Agenda, recenty outlined by H.E President Uhuru Kenyatta and therefore the summit's thematic tracks will include: Manufacturing, food security, Universal healthcare and affordable housing.
Under the theme Preserving our Heritage, Pioneering technology, Connected Kenya will host a hackathon seeking to unearth solutions that will facilitate achieving the goals and objectives outlined in the big four agenda. The primary focus will be on how digital payments can help attain the Big Four Agenda. Hackathon participants will be required to propose and develop software showcasing how digital payments can aid achieve the aforementioned goals.
Participants are required to form teams that contain a minimum of 2 members and a maximum of 4. We will contact the teams with the best proposed solutions and provide information on the next steps. There are also lots of great prizes to be won i.e laptops, phones, headphones and possibly career growth opportunities for exceptional teams.
