CUA Hackathon
CUA, milestones & attracting new members
Whether you are looking to purchase your first home, start your first job or have a baby, these moments in our lives are just some of the times when CUA works with members for mutual good.
While CUA is has been delivering life rich banking to our members, we want to offer them even better experiences – the kind they won’t receive anywhere else.
This is where you, our creative thinkers, come in.
The Challenge
In its first ever Forces of Attraction themed Hackathon, CUA is looking for innovative solutions that answer the following question:
How can CUA provide a unique service or product offering around key life events to attract new members?
This is your chance to showcase your ideas during a 54 hour period – over two and a half days - of building, validating and launching new digital and startup products.
How does it work?
You will be working in a team of like-minded individuals who enjoy working in fast-paced and creative environments. There will be a mix of entrepreneurs, marketers, developers, professionals who are experts in their fields and CUA staff.
On the Thursday night, you will meet other participants, pitch your idea, vote on your favourites and then break into teams to begin working on the chosen idea.
Over the following two days, you will be working with your team to design, develop, validate and pitch the idea. Along the way, you will be mentored by experts who will help you and your team reach your goal by the 4pm deadline on the final day.
After tools down, your team will pitch their idea after which, a panel of judges will deliberate and choose the winning team.
Keep in mind you will have to commit for the full 54 hours from Thursday evening until Saturday afternoon.
So come along, bring your ideas and make them a reality!
What will you get out of it?
You will have the opportunity to use your interests, skills, innovative thinking and creativity to develop an idea that CUA can use.
The prize for the winning team which can produce the best business model, validation of their idea, execution and design and overall pitch is:
- $5,000 cash prize
- Mentoring session with entrepreneur and investor Steve Baxter from Channel Ten program, Shark Tank
Prizes will also be awarded for:
- Most Innovative/Creative Concept - $500 cash prize
- Best Traction/Most Viable - $500 cash prize
In addition to being in the running to win these prizes, you will be able to add your participation to your portfolio, meet new people, learn new skills and have a lot of fun along the way.
We will also ensure that we keep your stomachs satisfied and energy levels up the whole way!
