What is CycleHack?
On the weekend of the 24th of June, we bring together a diverse range of people to identify barriers to cycling and generate ideas that will solve these issues. We want these ideas to become hacks. This means that over the duration of the weekend you will be working with people to make your ideas become a reality.
Your ideas will be prototyped to see how they might work in the real world.
Who is it for?
Whether you cycle or not, we're interested to see people from all corners of London talking with each other about their experiences and thoughts on cycling within the city.
Our event has limited capacity and we will be using a wait list for spaces. If you have a ticket you can't use, please let us know asap to allow others to attend in your place.
What is a cyclehack?
A 'Cyclehack' is an idea that can be prototyped and tested in the city that addresses a barrier to cycling.
Hacks can be physical products, digital apps, ideas for new campaigns or even influence policy and can consider local infrastructure and route maps. The process of bringing multiple disciplines and perspective together to design new ideas brings life to innovative ideas.
All the hacks are put online and shared on a Cyclehack Open Source Catalogue for the world to see, share and use in their own cities. The best ideas from the weekend will be honoured with a CycleHack award and some awesome prizes on offer from our sponsors.
What will we be providing over the weekend?
Wifi, data, printer, bicycle tool station, food, beer, and prizes.
Why are we doing it?
CycleHack focuses on bringing people and their places together to discuss and generate solutions to barriers that stop or inhibit people from cycling.
Over the weekend in June, a diverse range of people with different skill sets and experiences will come together to look at cycling in a new way at events happening all over the world.
