Help Dogs Trust learn from their data
Do you love dogs? Do you love data? Do you love R? Then this is the perfect event for you.
R ladies London is running a full day hackathon together with Dogs Trust. We will explore data provided by the charity, as well as public data, to help Dogs Trust learn from their data.
Questions that we will try to answer include:
Can we apply machine learning, to successfully classify visual images of 30 different dog breeds?
Are particular breeds more likely to be rehomed in particular areas?
Historically, are breed popularity trends seen across the whole of the UK, or do specific areas show unique trends?
Are rehoming rates influenced by breed appearances on film or TV?
Join us for a day of data analysis and fun.
Please note that you will need to sign a non-disclosure agreement to access any data from Dogs Trust.
Approximate schedule (this will be confirmed in an email closer to the date):
9-10am Arrival
10am-1pm Hacking
1-2pm Lunch (pizza!)
2-6pm More hacking (there will be some snacks to keep us going)
6-7pm Presentations and wrap up
