DutchChain & BigchainDB Berlin Meetup
The Blockchaingers 2017-18 season has produced some amazing results. BigchainDB and DutchChain are inviting the blockchain and A.I. community to learn about the teams winning the worlds biggest blockchain hackathon and find out how they can connect and contribute to their endeavors. We too will look ahead to the 2018-19 season, kicked-off in the Dutch National Hall of Knights, where a Nature 2.0 track will be introduced.

Nature 2.0
Nature 2.0 combines and extends AI * blockchain into a symbiosis of biology and machine, for a future of abundance.
The Medium post on Nature 2.0 of Trent McConaghy, founder of BigchainDB and Ocean Protocol, joint work with meetup speakers Dimitri de Jonghe and Jan-Peter Doomernik: https://medium.com/@trentmc0/nature-2-0-27bdf8238071
Two Nature 2.0 challenges will be developed in the next season, to culminate in the worlds biggest blockchain hackathon (11-15 April 2019). Teams are invited to join the program, co-create the challenges and build amazing solutions, with help of a powerful ecosystem ready to accelerate and launch the best teams into real-life tests and implementation.
Full Meetup Program

19:00 Welcome by Ricardo Garcia, Business Development Manager at BigchainDB
19:10 Opening by Rutger van Zuidam and Jan-Peter Doomernik
19:30 The future with self-sovereign consent
Oskar Person - Tech Lead and Co-Founder of Consense
Where did free will emerge from? We tend to think of freedom and control as opposites. However, over the ages life strived to create control systems to protect itself from the entropy of the environment. We build circumstances under which we have the power and the right incentives to exercise our own decisions. Can free will evolve even further?
“Information markets have the potential to unlock an enormous amount of data, which are vital to for instance make a case for research funding. The digital consent solution of Consense has the potential to contribute massively to that and be part of the beginning of the eventual automation of the bureaucracy of science.” -Vinay Gupta, CEO of Mattereum and Initiator Internet of Agreements
19:45 Parity (Blockchain for Energy or Privacy)
20:00 Break
20:15 Intro talk to Nature 2.0
Dimitri de Jonghe - co-founder Ocean Protocol
20:30 Blockchain on satellites
Haischel Dabian and Dan Acristinii - Kryha (Winner Blockchaingers Hackathon 2018)
“Kryha gave us a new way of programming code. Figuring out how to get the software on the robots so they know how to behave is a big deal. This is a very new way of figuring out how we can program robots; not just one robot, but swarms of them.” -Vinay Gupta

About BigchainDB bigchaindb.com
With high throughput, low latency, powerful query functionality, decentralized control, immutable data storage and built-in asset support, BigchainDB is like a database with blockchain characteristics. BigchainDB allows developers and enterprises to deploy blockchain proof-of-concepts, platforms and applications with a blockchain database, supporting a wide range of industries and use cases.
About Ocean Protocol oceanprotocol.com
Ocean Protocol aims to make high quality data universally available to power a data economy. Ocean Protocol is a decentralized data exchange protocol, which builds in control, security, and transparency for data sharing and incentivizes participants to curate and refer data for discovery. This means that more data can be made available for data analytics and AI.
With Ocean Protocol, we bridge the gap between data providers and data consumers while creating an ecosystem of developers to provide new, innovative services. The protocol is powered by an added native token, OCN, which serves as the means of exchange within the network.
