GDPR and employee record-keeping for Transgender

GDPR and employee record-keeping for Transgender. #Pride #Diversity #LGBTQ

Talent Hack is embracing the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Queer (LGBTQIA+) community by hosting an Employee Diversity Hackathon during Brighton Pride week!

Become an ally and join us as we hack to lead the charge to foster a culture of acceptance and belonging by eradicating employee discrimination in the workplace.

The Challenge:

Use your creativity and skill to build and produce an impactful solution of GDPR specifically how data is stored with regards to LGBTQIA+ with the emphasis on trans persons record keeping.

This hackathon is designed to encourage LGBTQIA+ to find better opportunities for employment by organisations fostering and creating an open and welcoming workplace for all.

Speak to your line manager and HR Department and ask them to promote your company's involvement in our LGBTQIA+ Employee Diversity Hackathon!

The Target:

Details relating to an employee’s gender transition or their transgender falls within a “special category of personal data” under the General Data Protection Regulation, which came into force on 25 May 2018. Employers have a duty to keep records accurate, therefore it is important to ensure that if an employee undergoes gender transition, that their records are updated with their new gender and a new name (if applicable) as soon as possible.

We are encouraging employers to continuously review how such data is processed to ensure the transition is as smooth as possible.

Our Calling:

We call on you to invest your CSR allocation to brainstorm, plan, develop, finish up and submit solutions that will build and empower LGBTQIA+ professionals by putting gender-responsive innovations at the centre stage.

Join us to discover and create solutions to problems that empowers LGBTQIA+ professional standing within the workplace and help us to promote all year round quality and inclusion.
