Remarkable brings you Enabled by Design-athon – a two day action-packed hackathon-style event. Across 48 hours teams will hack solutions for everyday challenges as identified by people with disabilities, therapists and caregivers. There will be a whole range of talent in the room. Whether you are a beginner, a hacker or seasoned entrepreneur you are invited to learn new skills, solve some wicked problems and meet like-minded people.
Teams will use design thinking methodologies to create accessible, usable and desirable technologies. Disability experts will work alongside hackers creating prototypes of hardware and software.

Over $10,000 in cash and prizes
The winning team will be awarded cash and prizes to go towards further development of an MVP and a coveted position in our 16-week Remarkable Accelerator.
Judging Criteria
Judges will mark teams based on the following criteria.
Potential Impact
Does this idea solve an identified need?
Did the team validate their idea beyond the team?
Do the team demonstrate an understanding the potential market (ie. viability)?
Design
Is there a functional prototype (demonstrating hustle and dedication)?
Does it incorporate universal design principles?
Does it have a professional look and feel?
Is it Remarkable?
Is it memorable?
Does it deliver a compelling and captivating user experience?
Does it leverage/contain some “secret sauce”?

Day 1 - Friday 24th
8:30 AM Registration - Check-in from 8:30 - 9.00 am on Level 3 of Homebase Studio, Level 3 Wilkinson Building. Enjoy a coffee or tea and meet some of the other amazing participants!
9:00 AM Lightning Talks - Hear from some of the brightest minds in the disability sector and learn the problem identification, goals, rules and judging criteria for the event.
10:00 AM Part 1: Explore - Explore experience stations where you will interact with everyday products using the lens of disability.
11:30 AM Part 2: Pitch and Recruit - Pitch the problem you would like to solve, potential solution and type of people needed.
12:30 PM Lunch
1:00 PM Part 3: Make - Teams begin turning their idea into reality by starting work on their prototype.

Day 2 - Saturday 25th
8:30 AM Doors Open for Day 2 - Enjoy a coffee or tea to kick-start your day. Teams can arrange how they would like to use their time during the morning, but must arrive by 12.30pm for lunch.

3:00 PM Teams submit presentations
3:30 PM Part 4: Share - Teams will pitch their idea to a panel of judges. 5min pitch, 5 mins Q&A per team.
