Eye Heroes Hackathon

Fighting avoidable blindness

Around 1 million people in the UK are suffering from avoidable blindness; that’s blindness which could have been prevented by people taking regular eye tests and detecting problems early. This number is estimated to double by 2050 - a shocking figure for the world's fifth richest nation.

Eye Heroes is the UK’s first child-led campaign to tackle avoidable blindness, where children take on the role of eye health champions and inform adults in their communities about the benefits of regular eye tests.

We want your brains and enthusiasm to shape the future of Eye Heroes and further it's impact. We’re inviting our volunteers, eye health specialists, teachers, designers and friends to get together and spend a day creating new ways to spread the word about eye health.

Expect ideas sharing, hands on innovation and lunch of course :)
