A Weekend Hands-on Workshop
360/VR/AR is blowing up! This 3-day event with hands-on training provides essential skills for making cinematic VR/AR. *We have very limited spots* Medical, travel, real estate, and tech enthusiasts, all encouraged to join us, pending available spots.
PRE-PRODUCTION
Introduction to Storytelling
For our first workshop, we will be working with Microsoft's Hololens! This is where we will explore various aspects of cinematic 360/VR/AR storytelling including scripting, perspective, interactivity, working with actors, and storyboarding.
Producing Cinematic VR/AR
Brief information on budgeting, location scouting, and scheduling. We will teach the importance how to properly prepare to create a professional looking project.
PRODUCTION
This hands-on overview of various VR/AR (Mixed Reality) Hololens equipment. This includes a basic introduction to building worlds with cameras, sound recording and tripods/rigs.
Shooting/Prototyping your Mixed Reality (VR/AR Film)
You’ve planned your cinematic project. Now, you’ll divide roles within your team, review equipment and create a narrative experience working with actors.
POST-PRODUCTION
Putting it all together. Please bring your laptops *See requirements below*

Publishing and distributing your new virtual reality/AR/360 piece.
It's time for a cinematic VR Premiere! Enjoy viewing the piece with our group, while we offer constructive feedback/helpful tips for your future VR projects.

Requirements

VR/AR production equipment is provided during the workshop.

All participants must bring their own WIFI-ready laptop for use during this workshop. You must upgrade your operating system to the latest version before attending the course so there are no issues.

Bring an external hard drive to store your video files if you have that. Not a problem if you do not.
INSTRUCTOR:
Sherrie “Shero” Robertson is the founder of Blaze VR. Past clients in traditional film include Red Bull, Body Mints, Fuel Television (Fox), First Hawaiian Bank, Ma Cher, and Triple Crown of Surfing. She was recently invited to show “My Name is Te” virtual reality doc at the Sundance Lounge this coming January. Shero has also won several awards for her Virtual Reality storytelling/producing work including “Best in Show” at the SF VR hackathon and “Best Design” Google’s Project Tango hackathon. Dramatic feature script, Juke Box Hero, was a two-time Sundance Feature Film Lab finalist currently in post-production. Previously she produced/directed action sports surf movies that were picked up for U.S and international distribution. She was selected recently as one of Twitter's "40 People to Follow in VR" http://www.virtualumbrella.marketing/40-people-to-follow/
