FIRST LEGO League 2018 Hackathon

    What is the FIRST LEGO League (FLL) Hackathon?

    Well, see if any of the list below appeals to you:

    • learning about the FIRST LEGO League 2018 Robot Game
    • learning about how to use LEGO Mindstorm Robots
    • improving your general teamwork, collaboration and resilience skills.

    If any of them appeal to you, then take the plunge and get a team together and register for this free event. 10 max to a team (4 to 6 people would be ideal)

    You will spend the day problem solving, building and programming LEGO Mindstorm robots, learning the rules of the 2018 FLL Robot Game, and trying to get your team in a position to get the highest score at the end of the day.

    It is intended to be like any FIRST event, full of cooperation, gracious professionalism, fun and hard work.

    We provide the 2018 FLL Robot Game table and tasks, the LEGO Mindstorm Robots for you to use, the software to program them and endless tea and coffee.

    You will BYO laptop/s, food, energy and enthusiasm.

    A $100 Coles/Myer gift card will be awarded to the team with the highest score at the end of the day.

    Limited places so get in quick, and please - only register if you ARE going to come - we want to avoid no-shows.

    Most likely this will appeal to

    • future FLL Competition referees;
    • coaches/teachers/mentors of an FLL team;
    • teachers who want to learn about how to use LEGO Mindstorm robots;
    • university Engineering/Computing students who want an advantage in teambuilding and agile approaches to work;
    • university Teaching/Education students who want to understand a key bit of STEM tech in schools; or
    • just LEGO Tech fans.

    This event is NOT open for team members of current FLL teams registered to compete this year (i.e. the kids!).  It is intended to attract uni students who want a teamwork challenge, and/or people who are coaching, refereeing, mentoring or teaching related to FLL.
