French Embassy Hackathon: Mobility

BACKGROUND

The French Embassy Hackathon Series is a French Embassy in the US initiative in partnership with General Assembly's Joseph Nelson and Zach Thomas to encourage Franco-US integration, particularly in education. The series consists of two hackathons. The first event focuses on student mobility, and the second emphasizes improving US schools through French immersion programs.

This signup is for the singe day data dive on Franco-US student mobility on February 5. Data scientists and developers of all levels and backgrounds are welcome to attend. All those whom participate are invited to attend a follow-up reception at the French Embassy, where the winners of the hackathon will present their findings to Embassy staff. The hackathon has a capped number of attendees.

TOPIC: MOBILITY

The freedom of movement between France and the US is tantamount to a successful relationship. Through support of study abroad programs, the French Embassy actively works to encourage this exchange of culture and ideas.

In this hackathon, participants will be tasked with creating compelling data visualizations to identify where the French Embassy should be expending their resources to encourage future students to opt to study abroad.
