CREATE A COMPLETE GAME FROM SCRATCH IN 48 HOURS

LET’S MAKE GAMES TOGETHER
Join hundreds of creative minds from around the Midwest to celebrate the art of making video games at GLITCH's fifth annual, locally hosted, site for the 48-hour Global Game Jam.

Jammers will be served dinner + drinks during Friday’s opening ceremony and team building activities. The venue will be open for the full 48hrs for our friends coming in from out of town. There will also be complimentary tea and coffee flowing all weekend. 

Schedule:
Friday
5pm - Registration & Loading
7pm - Opening Ceremony
7:30pm - Dinner 
8:30pm - Pitching
9:00pm - Team Building 

A public Play Party, an event where we all get together to play each other's games, will be announced on Friday during the opening ceremony.

Please don't forget to register at the official Global Game Jam website! Each year, we list the jam site under the name "GameCraft" so that you can find it easily through their search function. This is where you will be submitting your final build on Sunday evening! 

NEW THIS YEAR -- Online jamming! If you're a fan of staying at home in your PJs while cuddling your cat but still want to participate, please feel free to join our Discord channel to connect with a team and communicate via voice chatrooms.  

GENERAL FAQ
What's a game jam?
A game jam is a hackathon for video games. It is a gathering of people for the purpose of planning, designing, and creating one or more games within a short span of time, usually ranging between 24 and 72 hours, and some even longer. 

Who attends game jams?
Participants are generally made up of game designers, artists, programmers, writers, producers, audio designers, researchers, and many others types of creative tinkerers. All skill levels are welcomed and encouraged to participate.

What kind of games are made at game jams?
All kinds! We see digital, VR, AR, tabletop, pervasive, and many more types of games that are made each year. 

Do you have to be at the game jam all 48-hours?
Absolutely not! In fact, we encourage you to go home to get some needed R&R or hop into one of the sleeping stations (aka lovely tents) if you want a break. 

What should I bring to the game jam?
Computers, tablets, recording equipment, prototyping tools, post-its, pillows for napping, and snacks! You don't want to forget snacks. 

Do you have any age restrictions? 
Nope. But if you’re under 16, make sure you attend the event with a parent or guardian.

Nursing & Prayer Spaces?
For the first year ever, we’re excited to say HELL YES. Thank you based PBS for having such wonderful facilities that help support our efforts. 

A nursing room and prayer room are both available on the third floor.
