The #GlobalGoalsJam is a weekend event that will be taking place in various locations around the world and is coordinated by the United Nations Development Programme and MediaLAB Amsterdam. Teams of participants will design an intervention aimed at achieving short term targets that support the Global Goals. The teams will work together through a series of short design sprints using a tailored toolkit provided by MediaLAB Amsterdam.
The Edinburgh Living Lab is hosting a branch event of the Global Goals Jam that will focus on Goals 7, 11 and 12:
Goal 7: Ensure access to affordable, reliable, sustainable and modern energy for all
Goal 11: Make cities and human settlements inclusive, safe, resilient and sustainable
Goal 12: Ensure sustainable consumption and production patterns
Specfiic challenges related to these goals will be presented by a selection of different organisations, and teams will also have the option to identify their own challenges.
Anyone is invited to participate. Non University of Edinburgh staff and students will be asked to contribute a small fee to cover expenses.
Selected participants may have the opportunity to participate in a follow-up hackathon in Nairobi, Kenya later this year (travel costs not included).
