GREEN HACKATHON
Organized by
GREENhack is a weekend-long event where students from different backgrounds come together in teams of 3–5 to create solutions to problems, using whatever technology is available to them. The best projects go on to win prizes, where creativity, ingenuity and style are rewarded.
Featuring real challenges from IBM, Engie, Northumbria Water and Durham County Council, students from across the University and the NINE DTP will collaborate, compete and solve challenges relating to our future clean growth. Registration will open mid-April and can be as an individual or team.
Challenges will be set within the context of the Clean Growth Strategy Challenges of;
Improving the energy efficiency of our homes
Improving business and industry efficiency
Accelerating the shift to low carbon transport
Delivering clean, smart, flexible power
Enhancing the benefits and value of our natural resources
Rolling out low carbon heating
Leading in the public sector
