Hack The Bully : Hackathon to End Cyberbullying
Nearly 43% of kids have been bullied online with 1 in 4 saying it has happened more than once. Suicide is th second leading cause of deaths for teens today. With nearly 70% of kids saying that online bullying is a serious problem something has to be done to address and solve this problem.
We believe this needs to end. As a result, Tacky Box, a local company focusing on end bullying in schools is partnering with Atmos energy, The Dallas Entreprenur Center, and Matt and Maurine Molak, founders of David’s Legacy Foundation and creators of the recently-passed anti-cyberbullying legislation titled David’s Law, to put on a Hackathon laaer focused on brining together people who would, like to build an online solution or cure for cyber or online bullying.
Join us with special guests... (to be named publicly Soon) and to help come up with some realistic solutions for putting an end to bullying online.
We will be meeting at the Dallas Entrepreneur Centre at 4:00 pm on Friday, Feb 23rd and hope to have some good solutions and MVP products in the works by 6:00pm Saturday, February 24 at 6pm. There will be awards such as... And a great group of programmers (bully hackers) working diligently to attack this problem head on
