Hack the Dot Dublin
Welcome to the Rightside Hack-the-Dot.
Join us at 6pm on Wednesday, February 22nd in our office beside the Gaiety Theatre to compete in the hackathon for a chance to eat pizza, drink some beer, and win some pretty sweet prizes too.
So, what makes a hack the dot that bit different from a hackathon? It's pretty simple really, we give you a domain name, and you build a product or service around it.
To help you get started, the domain name for this event is: WWW.HACK.LIVE and the theme is 'Finding hidden hacks to make your life easier.'
For example, in a recent hack the dot, the winning team interpreted www.fogsurfing.ninja, as a browser extension for employees that fogs out certain tabs when they've spent too long on them in order to increase productivity.
Don't worry we don't expect a fully functioning project in two hours, we will be judging teams based on the practicality of their idea, execution of the idea, interpretation of the theme, and their pitch to the judges.
There is no need to code prior to the event, ideas on paper are fine but it's entirely up to you.
Access to computers is provided but we suggest you bring a laptop per team if you require it.
There is to be a maximum number of 5 people per team.
We have €300 in prizes and a free domain name for all participants so this is definitely not one to miss.
All you have to do now is come up with a great idea for www.hack.live
