Hack the Gap - A Health Disparities Hackathon

Did you know that African Americans are 44% more likely to die from stroke, 30% more likely to die from heart disease, and more than twice as likely to die from diabetes compared to Whites? Or that Latino adults are six times more likely to have tuberculosis compared to White adults?

Or that African American women are 2.5 times as likely to die during pregnancy compared to White women?

We need to Hack the Gap. We need you: your passion, ideas, and commitment to change.

InnovateHealth Yale, BulldogHacks, and Spark are running a hackathon March 3rd – 4th to address the health disparities created by systematic or social challenges that disproportionately affect groups based on their race, ethnicity, religion, SES status, gender, or other characteristics historically linked to discrimination or exclusion.[1]

The Health Gap Hack challenges Yale students to develop new and innovative technology-based solutions to address health disparities in the United States. The event will take place March 3rd – 4th at the Center for Engineering Innovation and Design.
