Hack the Gap Demo Day
Hack the Gap, Minnesota’s all-women hackathon, is back! This year’s demo event will showcase all of the teams on May 15th at 2pm. The event will be hosted at Clockwork in their new Annex building.
The mission of this weekend event is to unite the women of the tech community, giving them a space to meet, innovate, and create together. We want to bring more than just awareness of the gender gap in technology. We want to do something about it.
Here’s how it works. Participants form teams of 4-5 consisting of programmers, designers, testers, and idea people. On Saturday, teams will build a product idea from scratch using any technology. Teams will consult with mentors throughout the day to ask questions and get feedback. On Sunday, the teams will demo their product to a panel of judges from the community.
Come show your support and see what these women have created. See what can be accomplished in a short time. Last year’s first place team, The NeuroVisionaries hacked a Star Wars toy to read brainwaves and display a visualization of normal-state brain activity vs meditative-state. In a weekend they built this.
