Hack Vores Kunst / Hack Our Art

English version below

Arrangementet er delt op i to spor:

Andersens Boulevard i København.

HACK OUR ART

Attention all developers, designers, data-hackers and art knowers! Do you want to test your skills by discovering new ways of communication, develop data visualizations and telling the story of 50 years of Danish art support and art in public space? Then read closer!

For the first time, the Danish Art Foundation and the Agency for Culture and Castles team up to host a hackathon dedicated to cradle ideas and to the dissemination of art in public spaces.

This event is a cross-disciplinary experiment, bringing developers, designers, data-hackers and art knowers together to nourish new solution and present data driven cases.

BACKGROUND:
Since 1964, the Danish Art Foundation has purchased and funded art by some of the best Danish contemporary artists. As for the works of art, the pieces have been presented in public spaces or loaned to various public institutions in Denmark and Danish institutions abroad. Today the collection counts 13.000 art pieces in total throughout the past 50 years – presented via vores.kunst.dk

ABOUT:
The event is divided into two tracks:

1. Create: Applications, gizmos or whatever comes to your imagination to communicate and conceptualize the art collection and the art pieces itself to citizens, students, researchers etc.

How do we create relevant/funny/interesting services for citizens, users and art knowers? Fx via services, apps, games or something completely different. The goal is to open up the art collection for citizens and new users.

2. Explain: Analysis and visualization. Which stories lies hidden in the Danish Art Foundation’s database on state-funded art and the contemporary Danish art-history?

How can we give the data a voice and how is it possible to present the data in an intriguing and inspiring way? The visualization could either be tactile or digital, so both makers, designers and developers are welcome.

The event is held at the Agency for Culture and Castles’ beautiful headquarters at H.C. Andersens Boulevard in the city center, with the Danish Art Foundation and the Agency for Culture and Castles as hosts.
