Hackathon - Prototyping Artificial Intelligence for Social Justice

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is being heralded as the start of a new era of human progress. As AI begins to develop in earnest, there is an opportunity to examine how this technology could be applied for the benefit of society.

The hackathon will bring together a mixture of people from a range of industries to prototype a simple, AI-based product. No prior experience of a hackathon or of working with artificial intelligence is required and people of all backgrounds are warmly welcomed.

It is a free event and refreshments will be provided.  BYO laptop or tablet, if possible.

This exciting event is part of an MSc research project at Goldsmiths College (University of London) looking at how to address bias, and embed social justice values, in Artificial Intelligence-based products and services.

If you have questions about the event, please contact Josie Swords (Researcher) at jswor002@gold.ac.uk
