Hackathon
What is it?
The primary aim is to generate software that might have some useful application to research. The secondary aim is to share our skills, work together, and learn about what we each do.
Who is this aimed at?
Everyone is welcome. We need people that can code, but we also need people that have relevant practical experience out in the field or in the lab. If you’re interested in coming along then please take a step back from your research and think about where there might be a gap in your pipeline (be it data collection, data processing, analysis, visualisation, teaching, and so on), have a chat with your lab group / SIG group, or just come along and we’ll brainstorm some ideas together.
Anything else?
It should be a good opportunity to apply your coding skills and develop software of real use to people within and outwith the institute. Guidance will be provided on R package building and git, but for the most part we’ll be working in teams, sharing our skills.
We have space for 30 people to join us and there will be food and beverages available for participants.
