Hackathon (Blockchain in Clinical Trials Design - Distributed Ledger Technology)

This event will offer the opportunity to Imperial College London community and partners to discuss current trends in clinical trials design and explore the opportunity to leverage Distributed Ledger Technologies.

Clinical trialists and the research community are exploring new ways to enable data-sharing by design, to support adaptive clinical trials and to collaborate through platform-oriented architecture. These innovations should enable data-sharing while enforcing the highest level of privacy and security of patient’s information.

In this regard, Blockchain has been advanced as a potential solution. A Blockchain allows untrusting parties with common interests to co-create a permanent, unchangeable and transparent record of exchange and processing without relying on a central authority.
