Hackathon Fall 2016
SCAYLE is proud to announce the Fall Hackathon 2016 in Karachi, Pakistan.
THEME:
The theme of the event is ‘Mobile solutions on cloud services’.
Cloud and mobile first strategies are today’s realities. It is also widely predicted that in the next five years annual spending on cloud environments will exceed $1Trillion annually (source: Gartner). Mobile already represents 65 percent of digital media time (source: comScore). Given the changing trends, SCAYLE’s Hackathon 2016 is focused on developing solutions on the mobile platform.
WHY?
This is an opportunity for all supercoders to:
- Prove their mettle
- Compete against the best
- Get an opportunity to work in US based startups including equity participation
- Get incubated
- Have fun
WHEN?
Timeline for the Hackathon 2016 is:
- Oct 11 – 9am – Enrollment / Pre-Screening Begins
- Oct 23 – 11pm – Enrollment / Pre Screening Ends
- Oct 26 – 2pm –Competition invites will be sent out to selected teams / individuals
- Oct 28 – 7 pm – Hackathon Starts - problem statement published over Discord
- Oct 29 – All day virtual hacking day - special guests
- Oct 30 – 5 pm – Submissions locked down
- Nov 2 – List of qualified submissions published and invitations sent out
- Nov 4 – Qualified teams are invited in person to present their solutions
NOTE: Venue in Karachi to be announced by end of October for presentations and prize distribution ceremony.
WHO?
The event is open to all budding developers/hackers who just love to program!! SCAYLE anticipates participation from local students, entrepreneurs, startups and programming enthusiasts. The participants can register as individuals or in teams of up to 3.
HOW?
The registered candidates will be provided with a problem set to solve and submit within 24 hours. The candidates who solve the first problem set, will be invited to the Hackathon 2016.
The programmers planning to attend the event are advised to have the development environment setup on their machines, ready to build a real cutting edge cloud based application which can be run on mobile devices. It does not have to be a native app and developers will be allowed to leverage frameworks they are familiar with. Discord will be the communication platform for Hackathon 2016.
