The first ever hackathon in the GTA created and designed specifically for high school students. 12 hours of coding, workshops, and teambuilding exercises will ensure that you leave knowing more about coding. What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event?

Street parking is free around McMaster University on the day of the event!

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?

Yes! Please bring your ticket. 

Is it ok if the name on my ticket or registration doesn't match the person who attends?

No, please ensure the name on the ticket is the name of the person who is competing. 

Do you need to know how to code to go to a Hackathon? 

No! Hackathons are open to anyone interested in attending with a positive attitude and willingness to learn! 

Do we have to bring our own food? 

No! Breakfast, lunch, dinner, and many snacks will be available throughout the 12 hours for you. 

Do I have to be a high school student to attend? 

No! While our hackathon is geared towards high school students, students who have already completed high school are also welcome to attend! 

Can I make my own team? 

Yes! Teams generally consist of 2-4 people, there will be a place in the form to specify your teammates. Each teammate must purchase their own ticket via eventbrite. 

Do I have to have a team? 

Not at all! We will have workshops and networking opportunities available for individuals who choose to attend. 

What if I can't afford a ticket? 

We have a limited number of bursaries available. Please email admin@cancodecanada.com if you require financial assistance.
