Join the Hack for Venezuela team to discuss plans for the Februrary 2019 hackathon, network, and learn more about the current status of the project. Schedule: 12-12:30pm: Introduction and networking 12:30-2:00pm: Present vision, discuss results from previous hackathons, and explain the plan for the next hackathon 2-4:30pm: Start gathering ideas, based on top social needs and challenges, and forming teams 4:30-5pm: Closing and Next Steps About the Hackathon: In Venezuela today.... Economic catastrophe --> 1 Million % inflation projected at the end of 2018 Major Migration Crisis in The Americas --> 4 million displaced across borders  Human Rights Violations --> 340+ political prisoners Venezuelans with mobile phones --> 30 million We'll use mobile technology, AI, and blockchain to code projects to:  Connect the worldwide Venezuelan community Create an accessible database and platform to connect engineers for social good to Venezuelan-based organizations and causes that would benefit from technical support and assistance Rebuild the country virtually   We want to: Launch a hub for solving problems in Venezuela and to attract talent to work on it Gather engineers for social good and intellectual leaders to discuss how to use technology to solve problems
