HackIR is an annual hackathon hosted by Iroquois Ridge High School. Over 150 students from all over Oakville and the Greater Toronto Area spend the course of 12 hours creating, developing, designing, and pitching a software or hardware project they build from scratch. During the event, students will also attend workshops regarding STEM and gain valuable collaborative, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
HackIR has been apart of the Major League Hacking Local Hack Day for two years and this year is no exception. Local Hack Day is a global hackathon uniting thousands of students across the world. Participants across 100+ distributed campuses are able to connect with their local communities and other hackers through digital workshops, social media, and a global live stream. HackIR 2018 will take place on December 1 from 9 am to 9 pm.
