HASS HACKATHON

Do you care about global issues? Do you want to impact change, but don’t know how?

If you are a current student enrolled in a degree from the faculty of Humanities and Social Science and are interested in learning about social enterprise and how to affect change THIS EVENT IS FOR YOU.

DETAILS: Our world has a lot of problems, and plenty of interventions that claim to fix them. But we all know the problems persist. Luckily, there’s a new way to generate change. By fusing business and charity, social enterprise is disrupting the way we solve social issues.

Social enterprise offers a sustainable means of tackling big problems.

Join the HASS Hackathon for your hands-on experience in social entrepreneurship.

Using a rapid design process, you will build novel solutions to issues you are passionate about with peers from the HASS faculty. In teams, you will identify an issue, devise a social enterprise model and pitch this solution. You will refine your enterprising skills, develop a framework for understanding social problems, and challenge the ways change-making is typically done.

  • If you are interested in social change, furthering an awesome idea you have, or starting an initiative in your local community – this event is for you!
  • No business knowledge or former experience of social entrepreneurship is required. This event is free and open to all HASS students on a first-in basis.
  • Lunch provided (make sure you let us know your dietaries)

YOUR world. YOUR ideas.
