Holocities Hackathon (a Looking Glass & Mapbox event)
Star Wars and Blade Runner sequels this year proved that the dream of the interactive hologram is alive and well, only this time it’s not just a dream. Following the launch of HoloPlayer One last November 2017, Looking Glass and Mapbox are teaming to host Holo-Hackathon #2: HoloCities. We are searching far and wide for holo-urbanists to imagine the future of holographic landscapes. The event will be taking place in New York City on February 3rd.
If you are an artist, developer, map-nerd or hologram hacker, please register to participate. However, because space is limited, we will be putting a cap on this event. To ensure a wide diversity of interest and expertise within the teams, we will ask participants to fill out a short survey before the event. You will be confirmed for the event once you have received an email confirmation from our team.
Looking Glass will provide the HoloPlayer One 3D display systems as well as the HoloPlay Unity SDK. Mapbox will be providing on-site developer support for their Mapbox SDK. This will be the first-ever hackathon to bring to life hologram dreamscapes that have existed only in science fiction.
