Home Office Hackathon - LDN (LAS_05)

Organized by

Event open to Civil Servants only. Organised Immigration Crime is big business but we are fighting back by targeting those organised crime groups who seek to exploit vulnerable people and reap the profit. The Home Office’s Immigration Enforcement, Criminal and Financial Investigation teams are the leading experts tackling OIC and dismantling the Organised Crime Groups behind it. The beneficiaries of just one OCG can over 10 years cost the UK over £1.7 billion.  Words are easy and we need to show and articulate the real impact of our effort, how our work impacts those we convict and on the victims we rescue from exploitation. We are looking for motivated individuals to join our hackathon, ready to look outside of conventional performance metrics and bring us something new and exciting. This will be an opportunity to design a new approach to measuring the impact law enforcement has against a highly topical and sensitive threat to the United Kingdom, of great Ministerial interest. Attendance is available to Civil Servants only particularly those with an interest in organised crime and analytical methodology. Contact email for any queries: sophia.king@ons.gov.uk
