Impact Pitch Day Round One
Calling all makers and social innovators to design, test, and impact your local region!
The Impact Pitch is an online competition and hackathon for makers developing ultra high-bandwidth hardware, software and business applications that want to impact their local community. Maker applicants hear the civic pitch and then compete in two rounds for part of a prize pool of $1,000 to $60,000 in cash and in-kind services. The competition is organized by DigitalC, US Ignite, and other regional organizations.
Makers will join and register their technology online at https://www.hackster.io/contests/digitalc.
Round 1 opens online Feb 9. Register your projects today!
On March 11, join regional makers, developers, analysts and designers to compete and solve local, real-world problems in a all day hackathon. Hear pitches from civic leaders on local, real-world problems. Compete in teams to wireframe a solution. Round 1 closes as three winning teams win a $1,000 cash rewards, plus a chance to move on to the final round to develop a working prototype for the Impact grand prize cash award of $20,000 - $70,000 options and in-kind bonuses.
On-site childcare will be provided on Pitch Day March 11 for parents participating in the hackathon. This childcare service for children ages 12 months -12 years at no charge to hackathon participants only. We want to welcome everyone who wants to compete to our Impact Pitch. We know that time commitments and other responsibilities in the lives of brilliant developers and makers may prohibit them from participating in these types of events. So we've tried to make it easier by providing childcare by professionals on location at the library on the Pitch Day, March 11th.
