It's the 48 hours that builds influencers, innovators and change makers. It’s the 48 hours that lets you connect with Australia’s top entrepreneurs and business leaders. It’s the 48 hours where you develop as an individual and drive positive change.
AUSTRALIA'S LARGEST YOUTH HACKATHON
For the first time ever, 150 high school students aged between 14 to 19 from across Sydney will gather over 48 hours to change an idea into a business (2015 graduates are allowed to attend). You will be guided by Australia's top entrepreneurs as you create a business or social venture that drives positive change.
Initially the event opens with participants pitching their ideas for a project or business. The students then form teams and will begin changing their ideas into reality. In the process, you will receive hands on experience as you speak to mentors, brainstorm ideas, work in teams, build websites, speak to customers and learn about your passion.
You will learn exactly how to execute a successful start-up through various workshops by some of the most respected leaders and mentors that we have gathered. They all are experienced individuals that have pursued their dreams and are the the pioneers of our world today.

MORE THAN JUST A BUSINESS EVENT
Initiate 48 is more than just about starting a business. Although we want to equip the youth of Australia with the necessary business skills, there is much more that you can get out of this experience.
The high school system prepares you to work for someone else and this is the only path that is presented to you. Coming to Initiate 48 will give you the opportunity to explore the other paths that you can take in life. Whether it's becoming an entrepreneur or a freelancer, you will be able to pursue your passion and do something that gets you excited.
It's also about meeting other young people that are passionate about creative positive change. You won't have a better opportunity to be in the same room with over a hundred people that are future influencers, changemakers and innovators.

About Generation Entrepreneur
Generation Entrepreneur was founded in January 2014 by two high school students who've constantly pursued their dreams and challenged the status quo. After 5 years of high school education, they realised the education system does not effectively allow students to pursue their passions, but rather push for conformity to the syllabus.
Generation Entrepreneur challenges this situation and provides high school students with an entrepreneurial spirit to follow their passions. Not only does this bring new skills to students, research has shown that a greater entrepreneurial spirit provides long term benefits to developing and growing an economy as a whole.
