Interfaith Dialogue and Hackathon Brainstorming Session

Organized by

Saturday, August 5th, 2017 at Mississauga Celebration Square DawaNet is pleased to announce an Interfaith Dialogue session to address social problems. The aim is to have a brainstorming session where faith communities come together based on shared values of charity, empathy, hospitality, and work towards providing support based community resources for all members of society. Part A: This session will serve as the discovery phase focusing on faith systems coming together to address a local problem (sustainability, food deserts etc.) and work towards an innovative solution that cultivates meaningful relationships. Part B: The second part will be an open dialogue where attendees brainstorm ideas for the Interfaith Hackathon. If you have experience organizing hackathons, love to create something new or are interested in getting invovled for the first time, than join us! But please register soon, as seating is limited. You're also invited to experience the opening of “Canada 150” a multi-media ceremony that starts on Friday August 4th, and continues all weekend long. The exhibit showcases the contributions Canadian Muslims have made towards Canada’s economic growth, community service, diversity, and heritage. From volunteering at local soup kitchens, to building dialogue with interfaith delegates, helping Syrian refugees or housing victims from the Fort McMurray fire, Canadian Muslims have given back to their communities from coast-to-coast and the Canada 150 exhibit gathers their stories to illustrate the humanity and service that has brought communities together.
