Panel Members:
Vijay Sondhi (SVP of Innovation and Strategic Partnerships, Visa): Vijay’s primary focus at Visa is the extension of its innovation practice to focus on developing a master showcase, illustrating the "future of payments" to major banking, merchant, and other payment eco-system partners at Visa's new state-of-the-art innovation facilities, including the One Market Center in San Francisco. Vijay will be moderating the session.
As a technology executive with over 20 years of experience, Vijay has worked on many projects involving the scaling of startups as well as the managing and developing of profitable high growth companies. He has also played important roles as a corporate executive, entrepreneur, and investor with proven experience across all aspects of running a technology business. He is also extremely passionate about the intersection of commerce, technology and global business.
Todder C. Moning (SVP, Innovation Research and Developments, US Bank): Todder is a Director in U.S. Bank’s Innovation Research & Development practice and an early leader who helped to create a team of visionaries who see potential in emerging technology or business models and adapt those to fit customer needs as they understand them today or how they envision them in the future. The Innovation team at U.S. Bank develops new products, sets the strategy for emerging innovations in financial services and creates the environment within the bank through which these innovations are tested, adjusted and brought to market.
Todder is an expert in creating new revenue streams and pioneering new market entries. A business creative and product designer with 25 years of experience in the payments and financial services industry, Mr. Moning is responsible for discovery, design, and development of emerging Fintech experiences, technology evangelism, venture partnering, and the incubation of emerging products and services for the Bank
John Rodkin (GM, Samsung Accelerator): John Rodkin is the San Francisco Managing Director and General Manager of Samsung Accelerator at Samsung’s Global Innovation Center. The Samsung Accelerator invests in and incubates seed-stage startups around key innovation areas such as IOT, VR/AR and technology-enabled consumer services. John has been the CEO and co-founder of three venture-backed and handful of other companies, and he teaches Venture Capital and Entrepreneurship at Stanford Law School.
Linden Tibbets (CEO, IFTTT): Linden is one of the adventurous individuals working on IFTTT, a service that empowers people to take creative control over the devices and applications they use everyday. Linden is also tall.
Amit Singh (VP of Product Development, Visa Developer Platform, Visa): Amit leads technology strategy, architecture, software development and delivery for the Visa Developer Platform. Amit was instrumental in getting VDP off the ground, including the initial vision, architecture, API on boarding and the overall developer experience. Additionally, Amit also manages the software development team for Visa’s Innovation Center at One Market Center. His team, in collaboration with the Innovation and Strategic partnerships team works with clients to co-create, rapidly prototype and field test various kinds of next generation payment scenarios involving IoT, Mobile Apps and Payment APIs from Visa and other client partners.
Amit has over 20 years of experience in building, managing and leading fast paced Agile teams that excel at developing complex, cloud based software products. Amit joined Visa 3.5 years back from a start-up in the clean tech space. Prior to that Amit has worked with companies such as Oracle and Deloitte Consulting. Amit has a B. Tech degree from IIT Rorkee.
Jagdeep Sahota (Sr. Director, Innovation & Strategic Partnerships): Jagdeep has over 17 years of payment industry experience with a primary focus on emerging payment channels i.e. e-commerce, mobile, NFC, digital wallets and Internet of Things payments. In his current role as Senior Director in Innovation and Strategic partnerships team, Jagdeep is responsible for driving co-creation of prototypes and pilots in area of payments digitization by consulting with Visa Issuers and Acquirers. Jagdeep is leading the IoT Payments initiative at Visa.
Jagdeep started his career with Visa as a college intern developing Visa chip cards; thereafter, taking on a full time role as a Systems architect for Visa’s EMV application specifications. In 2001, Jagdeep developed and launched mobile proximity payments in international markets like Japan and South Korea. Transitioning to contactless/NFC payments, Jagdeep developed the patent for dynamic card verification value, dVV, which is currently in use for all Visa payWave cards in US; additionally, he has 23 global patent filing to his credit.
Andrew Keighery (VP, Innovation & Strategic Partnerships): Andrew Keighery is a highly regarded payment executive with over 15 years of experience at the forefront of global payments. Andrew is in the Innovation and Strategic Partnerships Group at Visa where he leads teams focused on the Internet of Things, wearables, connected cars and other emerging segments. Prior to joining I&SP, Andrew spent 5 years bringing Visa Checkout to life. As part of the original Checkout team, Andrew worked with leading merchants, issuers and processors to bring the product to market in the US and abroad.
Andrew has worked around the globe, including in Asia Pacific, the EU and North America. He now calls Menlo Park home where he continues to work on his NorCal accent.
