Challenge: Build an intelligent transportation solution that can help cities like Melbourne manage demand for transport services for passenger and freight. Consider a better use of available resources, from empty bus seats to car parks to car seats, to drive local commercial activity.

Challenge: Build an intelligent transportation solution that can help cities like Melbourne make better use of the wealth of data available. Some idea could include: higher utilization of bike sharing schemes or better management of traffic flows to support improved urban planning, take a look at the Future Melbourne plan for some inspiration. http://participate.melbourne.vic.gov.au/future

To win a challenge, you must use 1 Mastercard API and 1 Partner Data Set or API

Teams of up to 5 humans are allowed. You can also add 1 cyborg, Furby, drone, or Sphero. All team members must have completed the participation agreement to compete.

We all start coding at the same time. This is done to keep things fair. Please don't come in and build on top of previous projects if you want to win.

You must demo your hack in order to present. No slide-decks or power-points will be allowed. 2 minute presentation 1 minute Q&A from Judges.

Teams have full ownership of everything they build at our events and are free to do with it as they wish.

Each hackathon has its individual hackathon.io page, which projects should be submitted on. Submission time is 1pm Sunday.

Winning teams will be subject to a code-review at some point following the event or immediately before winning.
All judging will be done on Hackathon.io. Scores are out of 25 points for the following criteria:

Execution: How well put together was the project and the demo that was shown? Does it solve a genuine consumer problem?(5 Points)

Impact: Is the solution commercially viable? Does it have the potential to scale? (5 Points)

Creativity: How out of the box was the solution? (5 Points)

Design: How well designed, including UX, UI and user flow, was the solution? (5 Points)

Usage of Tech and Data: How well does the project demonstrate Intelligent Transportation technology? Does it integrate across multiple modes of transport and multiple datasets? Additional points for creative and useful integrations of multiple Mastercard API’s and Partner Data Sets. (5 Points)
