Lambda World 2016

Event Description

The 2nd Annual Lambda World will be held September 30th and October 1st in Cádiz, Spain.

This year, we’ve increased the capacity and expect more than 350 attendees to gather together for two days of talks, hacking, and networking. Our new venue is an awesome old tobacco factory called Palacio de Congresos in downtown Cádiz - the oldest continuously inhabited city in Western Europe.

We kick things off on Friday, September 30th with a Typelevel Unconference, a Scala Center hackathon, and introductory workshops.

Following the busy day of presentations and hacking will be a welcome dinner and Flamenco concert where attendees will enjoy traditional food, drinks, and networking.

Saturday, October 1st will feature two tracks of presentations by some of the most dynamic speakers in the FP community covering a variety of functional programming topics, including:

Talks:

Workshops:

  • Alejandro Serrano
  • Alfonso Garcia-Caro
  • Luca Molteni
  • Dierk Konig
  • Javier Fuentes

To conclude (until next year) what is sure to be an incredible two days, we’re hosting a party at the Castillo Santa Catalina which is an old castle in the middle of downtown Cádiz. Come on, who doesn’t want to party at a castle?! We’ve got some great things planned for the event including a band we’ll guarantee will get you dancing, food trucks, and more beer than you’ll know what to do with. Of course there will be options for non-beer drinkers too. ;)

Stay tuned for more announcements as we get closer to the event, but make sure to grab your tickets soon before we sell-out!
