Start Programming the World of Minority Report

Learn how to integrate gesture based UI into your next project. 

Join us for this half-day hackathon in our digital innovation lab in Santa Cruz. Come by yourself or bring a team. Oh, and what good hackathon is complete with food and prizes.

We will walk through how ZKOO's gesture based controls work, walk you through our Javascript library for ZKOO, and get you set up on your laptop to start coding away.

Prizes:

We are still working on some prize support but we will have some smart devices to give away to winners. Entries will be judges on creativity, fun, and practicality. Space is limited and this hackathon is only open to 5 particpants or groups.

What do you need to know / bring:

You should have a good understanding of HTML and Javascript. You will need a laptop to develop with. If you do not have one we will have a couple PCs available for use. Most of the development can happen on a Mac or PC but the gesture testing and presentation will need to be on a Windows machine. We will have a Windows machine for use for presentations if needed.

Schedule:

  • 11:00 - 11:45 (Intro and overview of gestures and interface)
  • 11:45 - 12:15 (lunch and installation support)
  • 12:15 - 4:00 (code away - we are available for support during this time)
  • 4:00 - 4:30 (presentations and awards)
