London Tech Week Hackathon - Dementia Friendly Hackney

Join us this London Tech Week and support our aspiration to make Hackney a Dementia Friendly Borough!

Hackney Council has partnered with the Alzheimer’s Society to hold an afternoon Hackathon where the borough's greatest minds and creative thinkers will work together to come up with app ideas that will support the day to day lives of those with dementia.

Everyone is welcome, whether you're a resident, tourist, tech expert, mental health practitioner or just going to as many events as you can during London Tech Week - you will be a valued participant.

The afternoon will start with the Alzheimer's Society setting the scene for us all and the barriers faced in day to day life by dementia sufferers.

You'll then be put into groups and each will have an app developer expert and dementia expert at your disposal.

The winning table will receive a modest prize but more importantly your ideas could go on to improve the lives of thousands!

We'll be sharing the ideas after the event in the hope that a developer will take some of them on and we'll report back on progress at regular intervals via our www.investinhackney.org website.
